Today at 7pm the third season of Coke Studio Africa is set to premiere on Urban TV. The non-competitive show will feature artistes from Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Nigeria and Mozambique. It will once again showcase the diversity of African music talent and present opportunities for artistes to work with some of the best local and international music and production talent.

The acts are supported by a world-class production team. Grammy award-nominated South African musician and producer Zwai Bala (of Kwaito music group TKZee) is the new season's music director, with renowned international TV director/producer, Brett Lotriet Best, working as series producer.

Viewers will be looking out for exciting mash ups and how Ugandan representatives Jose Chameleone, Maurice Kirya, Juliana Kanyomozi and Navio (who replaced Keko) will represent at this international showcase.

They have been recording and shooting with musicians like Alikiba, Ben Pol, Vanessa Mdee and Fid Q from Tanzania; Sauti Sol, Jua Cali, Victoria Kimani, among others, from Kenya, plus Nigeria's star-studded lineup of 2Face Idibia, Yemi Alade and Flavour.

Mozambique is represented by Neyma, G2, Dama Do Bling and Hernani Da Silva. Ne-Yo, American RNB star, was the guest act and the song in which he features a select five acts, including our own Maurice Kirya, is likely to be one of this season's highlights.

Each week, musicians along with a highly-talented house band will perform new mash up songs produced by local and international producers.
